Machine Operator Yarn Processing Rewind

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• operate yarn machinery primarily rewind (fadis/tube wind)
• cross train on yarn processing equipment (chenille, boucle, twisting, air tex etc)
• load feeder stock (POY) or yarn onto creels as needed, if needed
• complete operational tickets
• cross train as needed
• perform routine housekeeping duties
• perform miscellaneous duties as necessary
• follow safe work practices
• support LEAN, safety, sustainability, and environmental initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• must have strong attention to detail
• must be able to work independently
• must adhere to all company policies and procedures
• must be able to prioritize duties and maintain schedule requirements
• must be cooperative and willing to learn new responsibilities
• willingness to work overtime as needed
• must be dependable, punctual, and adhere to attendance policy

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• manufacturing experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• must be able to work in varying temperatures within manufacturing areas
• must be able to lift and carry bulky and heavy objects up to 50 pounds
• frequent walking, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and crouching
• must have manual dexterity and visual acuity
• must be able to read, write and have basic math skills
• the ability to wear a filtering face piece (dust mask) as needed
• must pass Ishihara color vision testing (ability to distinguish color)
